Mom's Day

Me, Abby and my mom on Mother's Day. My mom came to church with me and was lucky to get in on the chocolates they gave us-Yum! They had a good speakers for Sacrament meeting and, of course, the kids got to do the traditional singing to the moms. Jonathan and Misty invited my mom and dad over for dinner so after church they went over there.

The day started out a little rough. You would think on Mother's Day everyone would be on their best behavior--not a 22 month old. Getting ready for church, he helped Alex spill and splatter punch all over the kitchen table and floor. Then, he threw a fit getting out of the shower because he didn't want his diaper on. We let him run naked for a minute and he runs to the railing upstairs and pees through the railing down into the family room. Patrick is yelling for us to come because he can see the pee dripping down. Gross!! After that, things calmed down and the rest of the day was nice and relaxing.

I love my little gifts the kids made me in school. Along with cute cards, Abby gave me a pumpkin seed starter, Alex gave me a flower in a hand-painted pot and Patrick made a clip for shopping lists. From the kids (with some help from Adrian) I was given Raisinets, Lay's Stacker chips, Dove chocolate and some pretty flowers.

Adrian's 38th Birthday party!

We had a family party May 3rd for Adrian's birthday. What an OLD guy! We were so proud of him when he blew out ALL those candles.

Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas this weekend to get out of the cold weather. Even though it wasn't snowing, it wasn't very warm. We still had a good time. We went with my mom and dad. My dad's birthday is tomorrow and he is the main reason we went. We went to Hard Rock Cafe, the Bellagio to see the beautiful spring flowers and to Rainforest Cafe. We also went to In-n-out of course. Luckily we made it in before a bus load of elderly German people unloaded. Adrian and I made it to the Mirage buffet where we ate WAY too much, but it was worth it. Does it seem like we spent most of the time eating?? Time to get back on the treadmill! The kids love staying in hotels and swimming so we swam everyday we were there, regardless of how windy or cold it was. Alex kept telling us how warm the water was, all the while his teeth were chattering.

Little Ballerina

Abby is doing so well in her ballet class. They are getting ready for the recital in June.

Oceanside, CA

Our family spent a week in Oceanside and got back last night. It was nice to see the sunshine and be able to wear flip flops and shorts. It was rainy the first couple of days but cleared up to be beautiful and warm the rest of the week. Monday the rain cleared up and we went out to walk on Oceanside Pier. We saw some pelicans-one almost took a bite out of Patrick's leg when he got too close. Saturday night we ate at Ruby's diner at the end of the pier. What a fun trip!

IN-N-OUT!

Christian got his first taste of In-n-Out Burger. We probably ate here 5 times during the week. I can't get enough! Draper will be getting one (finally in Utah) this August!!! Can you tell I'm excited?

Fun on the Beach

We spent time playing on the beach in Oceanside. The kids had so much fun in the water and playing in the sand, it didn't matter to them how cold the water was. Abby made "sloppy joes" out of water and sand and Christian kept wandering off making new friends.

Haunted House

In Old Town San Diego we visited the historic Whaley House. I finally made it! (The last time we were here I decided not to go on the tour and I regretted it). The Travel Channel has named it the most haunted house in America. I went in with Patrick and took the tour. It was a weird old house, but we didn't see or feel any ghosts. I think Patrick was disappointed a little.

A Very Merry Un-Birthday

Abby had to go on the tea cups at Disneyland. I told her I would go as long as we didn't spin-I'm not that young anymore.

Meeting Mickey

The kids really are having fun-despite the looks on their faces! It's always interesting to see how kids will react to the characters. Christian was pretty nervous when he saw a life-size Mickey.

New Beginnings

Sunday we had our young women New Beginnings night. Everything turned out great. We did a cooking theme and made a cookie pizza with fruit representing the young women values. Amee stepped in at the last minute and did a great job doing the cooking demonstration. Autumn's boss created this cute sign with vinyl lettering to give to each of the girls. Her company name is You Don't Say Vinyl. We were so busy getting everything set up that I forgot to take a picture of the decorations and refreshments. It's always a challenge turning the church cultural hall into something "cute".

Mittens for Socks

Christian found a tiny pair of baby mittens with no thumbs and brought them to me to put on his feet. I put them on him and they only covered have of his little foot, but he didn't care. He then wanted his boots on. He walked around with mittens and boots on his feet most of the day. When I took them off of him, his circulation was being cut off by the elastic in the mittens, but he still didn't seem to mind! What a funny little guy.

Rainboots

Aren't these the cutest boots? What would we do without Costco?

My little buddy

Christian loves to read his little board books. Grandma and Abby were coloring at the table so he thought he needed to join in the fun. ( At least he isn't ON the table!) He has his usual messy face.

Pinewood Derby!

Last night was the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. Patrick had a great time seeing how fast his car would go. His was a red Ferrari with a tiny logo on the front. He got the award for best paint job. Way to go!
